How do I schedule an appointment?
You can choose the date and time that works best for you here. We are available for in-person appointments, phone calls, or video calls. Most people choose to meet in-person in our studio or by video call - these provide the best way to view any quick sketches the goldsmith might do during the appointment.
Do you have any pieces in stock?
All of our jewelry is custom designed. Therefore, we do not carry ready-to-ship stock in-store or online.
What exactly happens during the custom design process?
At your scheduled consultation, we’ll take you step-by-step through the design process - from concept to reality. You can read more about the process here.
Do you work with clients remotely?
Yes, definitely! We take pride in servicing clients around the world through email, phone, and/or video chat. Feel free to send us an email to arrange a remote consultation time.
Do you provide engraving services?
Yep, we provide hand engraving services. Hand engraving typically requires an extra 10 business days in addition to standard completion times. There is also an additional fee for this service.
Where are you located?
Our studio is located in the Mount Vernon Arts District in Baltimore, Maryland. Schedule a consultation to come and visit us at 225 W. Read Street. We’re open by appointment only.
How much will custom cost me?
Our starting cost it visible on our site so that it is easy to understand the craftsmanship that we offer. We require full payment upfront in order to secure your stone and get the production process started.
What is the standard time it takes for jewelry to be made?
Typically, the turn-around time for all custom and bespoke jewelry is 4 - 6 weeks from initial payment. Processing time may be extended depending on the complexity of the piece and the time of year the piece is ordered. We’ll inform you upfront if processing times are slower than normal.
Do you provide rush services?
Yes, rush services are provided whenever possible. Extra fees will apply.
Can I incorporate an heirloom stone in my custom piece?
Yes, suitable heirloom stones are able to be incorporated into your custom piece, dependent upon quality and condition of the stone as determined by the goldsmith.
What if I need my jewelry resized?
We are able to assist with resizing. Contact us and we’ll discuss in greater detail.
What metals and stones do you work with?
We work with 18k yellow, white, and rose gold. We also work with platinum. This ensures that the metal is durable and long lasting. All stones and metals used are inspected to ensure that they meet the standards of the House of Bluestone Goldsmithing. We work with all types of gemstones and can source several different colors and sizes.
Where are your stones sourced from?
Our stones are ethically sourced from all over the world. Bluestone Goldsmithing has its own curated list of gemstone suppliers that we work with.
How are diamonds selected for clients?
We carefully select diamonds used by looking at the four C’s - cut, color, clarity, and carat. You can read more about our diamond selection here.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Additionally, we accept a wire transfer.
Do you offer in-house financing options?
Yes, we offer financing through Synchrony. Contact us to learn more!
How do payments work?
Once you have chosen your final design, including stones and metal, we will invoice you the total cost of your custom piece. We do require full payment upfront for all custom work.
What is your shipping method?
An estimate of delivery time will be discussed at the time you place your order. Bluestone Goldsmithing ships all jewelry using insured shipping from either USPS, FedEx, or UPS.
Shipping times may vary depending on your location. Be sure to verify your shipping location when you place your order.
Every piece is fully insured, and must be signed for in order to be received. We will make you aware of the delivery date so that you can do your best not to miss the delivery.
Do you offer international shipping?
We ship to clients worldwide. For international orders, your country's customs department may impose customs fees, import duties, taxes, and other applicable charges to your order. Bluestone Goldsmithing is not responsible for any customs department fees or taxes. All pieces are insured during transit.
What is your return policy?
Jewelry pieces that were created as a custom design, custom commission, or special order basis are not returnable or refundable.
Can I cancel a custom order design?
Our design fee, as well as any purchased materials for your custom project, are non-refundable once the design process has been began.
Our design fee covers our time and labor for our correspondence, research, material sourcing, reserving your guaranteed delivery date, and other responsibilities that were involved in booking and preparing to create your custom jewelry piece.
Should you need to cancel your order, we will not charge you the remaining balance.
Do you provide insurance?
Unfortunately, we do not offer insurance through Bluestone Goldsmithing. However, we definitely recommend that you insure your jewelry with your insurance company for your peace of mind.
Do you provide warranties?
All of our pieces come with a free warranty. While some repair charges may apply due to normal wear, we are happy to offer the following services free of charge (insured shipping costs are not included):
Prongs checked for thinning and tightness
Stones checked for security
Mounting checked for thinning and roundness (shape)
Polishing to restore brilliance
Ultrasonic and steaming to remove debris and oil
This complimentary Five Point Inspection Promise guarantees that your ring will stay as beautiful as the first day you slipped it on your finger. As long as you bring in your ring every six months for a checkup, our Five Point Inspection Promise is an easy way to make sure your ring continues to stay healthy.
We reserve the right to void our warranty if maintenance, repair, re-sizing, stone replacement, or other services are performed by someone other than Bluestone Goldsmithing.
If you believe your jewelry has a workmanship defect, please contact us as soon as possible. We will evaluate your piece, and if the damage is covered by our warranty, we will gladly repair your piece for no additional cost.
*Our warranty does not cover damage due to normal wear, center stones, product loss, or theft.
Do you offer appraisals?
We are happy to provide you with a report documenting the retail value of each piece of jewelry. However, an appraisal requires a certified appraiser, and this is not a service that Bluestone Goldsmithing provides.
